Chris Griffin MS, RN-BC, CPN, Caritas Coach, HeartMath trainer
Professional Development Specialist, Children’s Hospital Colorado
Christine Griffin is a nurse at Children's Hospital Colorado where for the past fifteen years she has been providing care not just for patients and families but for the care providers as each search for health and wellness. For the past ten years Chris has developed resiliency curriculum, presented at national and international conferences on resiliency and offered resiliency workshops with healthcare organizations and hospitals around the country. She serves as chair and co-chair for many resiliency programs at Children's Hospital Colorado. She is a Caritas coach and a HeartMath trainer.
In her PhD program Chris is studying effective compassion fatigue interventions to decrease burnout, mediate secondary trauma and increase compassion satisfaction for healthcare providers. She uses a theory based practice and stress management tools to encourage care providers to build a compassionate practice for self as they manage the complexities of caring for others.
Participants will experience practices to nurture self-compassion and resiliency through self-reflection and interaction within small groups. They will reflect on their own strengths, remember what they stand for, and reconnect to their purpose in their chosen healthcare profession.
