Call me crazy, it would be great to have an assigned librarian? Or, is this something that would simply impossible. Of course it is always great to speak with anyone of the librarians.

Online courses to learn to use some of the resources like end note etc...maybe there already is something like that and I do not know.

A way for people not affiliated with the university to access some of the data bases? Preceptors and people who teach us should be able to benefit and we push EBP but many only have access to Medscape.

Wish 1 - Librarians are assigned to departments, see: http://hslibraryguides.ucdenver.edu/liaisons Wish 2 - Online tutorials are available here: http://hslibrary.ucdenver.edu/online-tutorials

I would like to be able to submit a list of references and receive copies of the journal articles and information on the other references within a few days. And I would like to be able to submit my list via email.

I request that each hospital affiliated with the medical school (probably excluding VA) have an office staffed 5 days a week by a librarian (or assistant). The current location of the library is, unfortunately, very inconvenient for people working within the university hospital and children's hospital and parking is not convenient either. The walk to the library is very hot in summer and often very cold in winter.

Think seriously about wish #1 and wish #2.

Wish 1 - this wish can be granted using the library's interlibrary loan service. See http://hslibrary.ucdenver.edu/interlibrary for more information.

I wish the lights in the study booths would not shut off so quickly. It is very annoying while I am studying.

The coffee shop was open for longer hours

I have seen someone smoke an e-cigarette while on the computers and sometimes people answer their phones and speak loudly. No one from the library reception desk has done anything.

A bioinformationist that could help others on campus navigate bioinformatics resources

Licensing of periodicals and textbooks such that it is possible to do automated processing of the full texts of their contents.

A bigger budget for the library to support 1 & 2

Better training for library personnel. I was shocked when I visited the library recently looking for a book with a good review chapter about tuberculosis, and the person at the circulation desk didn't know how to help me search for one. The only reason that I have to go to the library nowadays is to get books--if the library can't do that, then I have no reason to physically visit the library at all.

A science librarian or bioinformatics person. Access to resources like NCBI is important, and the library could help people with this.

I know that this is a tough one, but I wish that the library could acquire more books in my specialty area. Right now I buy books for my lab out of my own pocket. This seems like something that the library should be doing.

longer hours. Starting earlier on the weekend and staying open later during the week.

Not turning the lights out at 11:30pm. Closing at the library is very rude. For the last half hour, the staff does not flicker the lights, they simply turn them off for 10-15 minutes. The staff constantly tells you to leave even though there is a half hour left. The staff becomes extremely rude from 11:30-midnight.

Wish 2 -The lights are programmed to flicker at closing. They should turn off three times for 20 seconds at a time. The entire process should take 2 minutes. The lights should not be off for 10 - 15 minutes. We have tested and could not replicate having them off for any longer, but we will continue to monitor.

First of all, I want to thank you for your current services.

More hands on training options. There are already ideal subjects in your training list; alternate times would be ideal.

Additional writing center staff members and extra hours.
