My Wi-Fi doesn’t connect automatically; which wireless network should I use, UCDenver or Guest?

Everyone connects to the wireless network named Guest first.  Connect to Guest, open your browser, go to http://www.ucdenver.edu or other web page and click "Accept" on the blue and white "Connect" web page that comes up.

After successful connection to Guest, another web page will appear with the option to download a software tool that facilitates connecting to the secure wireless network named UCDenver.

UCDenver wireless network requires a University email username and password for access.

Am I able to forward my campus email? What are the email settings for my phone or tablet?

Forwarding Anschutz Medical Campus email is not as safe as using your phone, tablet or Internet email account to read campus email.  Find the general settings on the Email Help Resource Guide:  http://hslibraryguides.ucdenver.edu/email-help.
The steps are a bit different for each device; should you encounter difficulties you may email a request for assistance to student.postmaster@ucdenver.edu.

How do I renew books or other items?

Use the IMPULSE library catalog and click on the My Account/Renew Your Books link at the top right of the page. Or, call the Service Desk at 303-724-2152. You will not be able to renew an item if someone else has placed a hold on it.

What are the fines for late items? Fines will accumulate at 50 cents per item per day. When your fines reach a certain level, you may be blocked from checking out further materials until the fine is cleared up.

How do I identify journal articles on my topic?

The easiest way is to use an online database. There are several methods for accessing the Health Sciences Library's databases. Pubmed is a freely available option that contains the MEDLINE database plus much more. here is an online tutorial for using Pubmed from the National Library of Medicine. Ovid is another option (see below).

How can I obtain a copy of a print journal article owned by the Health Sciences Library?

If the Health Sciences Library owns the journal that you want to copy, you can copy the article yourself using the copy machines in the Health Sciences Library.

Keep in mind that copyright restrictions apply to all copies you make.

How can I find full text journal articles online?

Full text may or may not be available for the particular journal and article you need. The Health Sciences Library's full text is integrated with many of our online databases, including Pubmed, Ovid, and Web of Science. If you are a student, staff, or faculty member at Anschutz Medical Campus you have access to this content.

What do I do if the Health Sciences Library does not own a book or journal article that I need?

You have several options to obtain materials not owned by the Health Sciences Library.

1. Use the Health Sciences Library's fee-based Interlibrary Loan Service to request the item from another library. The ILL service has access to general national networks and can locate and request most items for you. For more information, see the Interlibrary Loan web pages.

What are Find Journals, FindIt, and IMPULSE?

What is the difference between the Health Sciences Library’s Find Journals web portal, FindIt, and the IMPULSE library catalog? FindIt is a discovery tool that integrates journal articles, books, dissertations and the universe of findable information.
