Welcome to the Grants, Scholarships, Fellowships and Loans page of the Health Sciences Library at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. This page lists internet resources for financial aid, grants, scholarships, and other funding resources for students entering universities, colleges and graduate schools. Also included are specific sites for students and professionals in the biomedical sciences and in the fields of medicine, nursing, pharmacy and dentistry.

Lists by area of interest in the health sciences, medical, and biomedical sciences with deadlines and contact information.

Community of Science 
Community of Science (COS) is the leading global resource for hard-to-find information critical to scientific research and other projects across all disciplines. Subscription based resource, not open access.
Free registration is required to access information on college scholarships and internships. Lists more than 1.3 million scholarships.
Free information from the Department of Education on funding education beyond high school. Walks visitors through the FAFSA (Free application for federal student aid) process including how to renew. Offers information on managing student loans and special programs for graduate and professional students.
Large pathfinder database to information on college scholarships and internships. Has links to many free scholarship services such as SRN Express, Peterson's Awards, and BrokeScholar, with critical annotations regarding their services.
Great resource for the beginner in funding research and learning how to write grants. Subscriptions are required to access The Foundation Directory, Foundation Grants to Individuals Online, and Corporate Giving Online.
Fundraising & Grants Directory. Links to education grants, fundraising sources, government funds, foundations online, and grant writing resources.
Department of Health and Human Services sponsored site to finding and applying for federal government grants. May search the database without registering, but must register to apply for a federal grant. Individuals may register as part of an organization and be eligible for all federal grants, or as an individual and be eligible for only those grants to individuals.
Free links to funding sources at the international, federal and state levels. Membership is required for workshops and training in the writing of grants. Note: Lists all Colorado foundations, both public and private, and corporate giving programs with links to all.
Provided by the journal Science, this one-stop resource to finding funds for training in the sciences and undergraduate science education also has links to funding directories, international funding, and fellowships. Applicants may limit their search to specific research areas (i.e. Epidemiology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology).
ResearchResearchLite is a free resource that provides information to NIH and NSF and 60+ other government funding sources. Full access to ResearchResearch requires a subscription and includes non-profit, private and state funding sources.
Since 1998, access to over 2.7 million national, state, and private scholarships, loans, and grants for college and graduate school. Must create a free personal profile to access scholarship and loan resources and to apply online.

Funding Sources for Biomedical, Dental, Medical, Nursing and Pharmacy Students and Professionals
AFPE. The American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education 
Advances and supports pharmacy students through scholarships, fellowships, and loans.  Programs include minority scholarships, first year graduate school scholarships, post-doctoral fellowships, and new investigator grants. Also includes financial support opportunities for pharmacy faculty.
ADA Foundation provides scholarships and grants to promote dental research and education.  Provides links to downloadable forms to apply for scholarships, grants, and requests for proposals (RFPs).  Lists links to fellowships, awards, grants, and scholarships from a variety of sources for dental students and dentists.
AMA Resources for Medical Students.  Link to scholarships, awards, and grants from the AMA Foundation and others for medical students under the Financial Aid tab.  Website also includes information on internships and fellowships.  Some AMA Foundation scholarships are specifically for minority students and for Physicians of Tomorrow - promising fourth-year medical students.
The APhA Foundation  provides student scholarships and incentive grants to established pharmacists interested in advancing their practice.  Must be a member to receive grants or scholarships.
Funding & Grants.  Colorado Nurses Foundation is dedicated to improving health care and nursing practice in Colorado. They support educational scholarships and sponsor grants for nursing research.
A career and education resource for minority nursing professionals, students, and faculty.  Links to an extensive list of scholarships from associations, foundations, societies, and programs, many of them geared directly to specific minorities, others to nursing professionals in general. Requires free registration.
Office of Extramural Research  U.S. Department of Health NIH grants and funding information for researchers in the fields of biomedical sciences and behavioral research. The New Investigators Program is directed toward beginning biomedical research scientists. Site includes information on the entire application process.
Links to financial aid, scholarships, schools of nursing, and other resources. Provides a link to the AORN (Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses) Foundation Grants & Scholarships.
